Primary Care

Established since 1987, the Department of Primary Care Medicine has been leading primary care research and teaching in Malaysia and the region. We have a strong team of academic staff who conducts behavioural and interventional research to solve real-world healthcare problems. We also train undergraduate and postgraduates students to become competent and compassionate family physicians.

For Researchers

The Department has three research thrusts: Patient empowerment, Chronic disease management and Men’s Health.

For Learners

We train undergraduate and postgraduate students in Family Medicine, and supervise PhD and Master’s students in research.

For Patients

We strive to provide holistic, comprehensive and continuity of care for patients and their family using a patient-centred and evidence-based approach.

Our Collaborators

We have established strong links with local and international academic institutions, Ministry of Health and non-governmental organisations through research collaborations and educational activities.
